Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, our annual 40 day preparation for the Easter celebration. Masses with the distribution of ashes following the homily will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m. A scripture service with the distribution of ashes will take place at 12:00 noon.
Communal penance services with individual confession and absolution will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. We will welcome several guest confessors at each service.
Holy Week begins this weekend. Masses will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday (beginning in the courtyard, weather permitting, with a procession into the church), and on Sunday at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.
The Sacred Triduum begins with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:00 p.m. followed by a short procession to the repository in the parish hall which will remain open until 12:00 midnight for private prayer.
The Solemn Celebration of the Lord's Passion begins at 3:00 p.m.. The Stations of The Cross are prayed in church at 7:00 p.m. for those who cannot participate in the Celebration of the Lord's Passion earlier in the day.
On Holy Saturday, the Blessing of Food for the First Meal of Easter takes place in church at 1:00 p.m. The Easter Vigil in the Holy Night begins at 9:00 p.m. in the courtyard, weather permitting.
