Welcome to the Sacred Heart School Alumni Gateway page. Look here for information for contacts, newsletters, reunion information and more. All graduates are invited and encouraged to submit announcements and reunion/class websites for publication on this page or for posting in the parish weekly Guardian. Stay in touch!
Our parish school, now over 100 years old, opened in 1918 on Michigan Ave. The high school was closed in 1975. Twenty years later, a group of high school graduates formed Sacred Heart Alumni Association (SHAA). 25 years later we remain part of parish history and the parish community.
SHAA runs under the Parish umbrella. Our purpose is to promote Catholic education and continuing friendships amongst both graduates and former students of Sacred Heart School. Our annual newsletter, The Excalibur, is published each January. We invite shares of special memories or current activities, including alum meetups. Alumni are invited to gather during the annual Dearborn Homecoming Weekend to visit, chat and sign up as SHAA members. Additionally, we are proud to sponsor and annually award two partial scholarships to SH and parish eighth graders who will continue their Catholic education at an area Catholic high school. We continue to make annual donations to the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) for their decades of faithful service and education to our Parish community. Lastly, we support cost of hall rental for any Sacred Heart alumni groups who wish to use the Parish Hall for their reunions.
Dues are minimal, just $5 a year. Members can choose to receive The Excalibur by mail or email. At the bottom of this page, click to pull up a printable application.
Consider joining our very friendly group!
Huge thanks to recent gradeschool alum Colin Harris for facilitating our desire to share memories. Below is a website Colin developed of "back in the day" memories. Enjoy! Click, and send us what you think in next year's Excalibur!
What some would call “Shamrockapalooza,” an all-day talent show day was a chance for Sacred Heart's grade school kids to be onstage. Check the videos on this website, featuring students from 1985-2019 (who are now grade school alumni). Thanks Therese Terns. for always making St. Patrick's Days fun!
